Holly and Oak Class Visits :)

This week we have started visiting the Reception Classrooms. On Tuesday we went to see Miss Wainwright, Mrs Bramley and Mrs Trendall in Oak class and sang some songs together. Tomorrow we are going to have a story together in Holly classroom – we are very excited about our new classes and new teachers! We are visiting every week, on different days, for the rest of the Summer Term.

Sports Day 2024!

Thank you to everyone who came to Sports Day today – Froglets, you were amazing! Our biggest crowd yet with over 120 spectators, cheering everyone on & working as a team to complete each activity! We all enjoyed a well-deserved ice pole to celebrate – great job Froglets – we are all very proud of you 🙂

Caterpillar to Butterfly!

This week we have been focussing on the life cycle of a butterfly. To help us remember it we learned a song with actions, cut out pictures of the process from egg – caterpillar – cocoon – butterfly and also listened to the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar – although we’re not sure he should be eating lollipops or chocolate cake!

This also helped us with our cutting skills as it can be very tricky to use scissors but we are trying hard!

I have attached some links below to the song, story & a time-lapse of a butterfly emerging – it made us all say WOW!

We are… Mad about Minibeasts!

We have been learning all about minibeasts this term and have even spotted some in our garden. We have been talking about differences between dragonflies and butterflies, counting spots on ladybirds and legs on spiders, choosing our favourite bugs and reading poems from our key text… did you know that woodlice have a pouch under their shells for their babies! Bugs are amazing 🙂

Welcome to Froglets Barry!

This term we are thinking about MINIBEASTS & the BIG question – Who goes to the Ugly Bug Ball?

Barry the African land Snail has come to visit us from Reception – he is almost as big as Mrs Knight’s hand! We have been learning about what he likes to eat, how he hides, the different parts of his body and why he needs calcium powder in his tank – to keep his shell strong!

Welcome back to the Summer Term!

Please remember to apply a ‘once a day’ suncream to your child before they come into Froglets & to send them in with a named sun hat. On these beautiful sunny days we love to explore the garden & we need to make sure all children are protected from the sun. Please do not send in suncream with your child but apply it in the mornings as part of your daily routine – thank you.

Science week :)

Today we celebrated Science Week with an experiment about TIME. Our whole school question today is: ‘What can we do in a minute?’ In Froglets, we asked the question – ‘How high can we build a tower in a minute?’ We found a 1-minute countdown on the board and raced our friends to build the highest tower… the biggest one the Froglets built was 14 bricks high – then Mrs Knight had a go and managed 26 bricks! I wonder how high your tower at home would be? We love SCIENCE!

World Book Day 2024

We LOVED seeing your amazing costumes today – we have seen farmers and gruffalos, superheroes, fairytale characters and princesses, policemen, ladybirds and so much more!

Every child will come with a token for £1 off a book – if your child did not come to Frogs today please ask an adult for one next week! Happy World Book Day everyone 🙂

Marvellous Me! :)

Today at Froglets we celebrated us. We all shared why we had chosen what to wear to school – some people chose their favourite colour to wear, others chose their favourite character and some opted for something super comfy! We agree all Froglets are MARVELLOUSLY WONDERFUL!
