Every year at St. Michael’s each class hang up hoops with decorations hanging from them in the school hall. These always look amazing and this year is no exception! Please see the school Facebook page for more photos… here are our exceptionally sparkly Christmas Trees! Another WOW from us… great job Froglets! 🎄⭐️🎅🏽❤️
This week we have hidden 10 different coloured owls around Nursery – some inside and some in the garden. The children have been using the clipboards to mark off the coloured owls when they find them and working as a team to find them all! It has prompted lots of discussion about favourite colours and different shades.
Good morning Froglets! This is the book we are focussing on at the moment – enjoy!
I wonder what your favourite colour is and why? 🙂
This lovely book is the focus of our learning for the next 3 weeks. It is all about colours and the ‘Wow’ of our natural world 🙂 Find it on YouTube if you don’t have the book at home – enjoy!
Mrs Trendall is a member of our support staff who can usually be found in Oak Class in Reception. We’d like to welcome her to our Froglets team as she comes to help us out when Mrs Knight or Mrs West need to be out of class.
We have loved learning about fireworks this week. We have watched them online and listened to the different sounds they make. We made sparklers and a collaborative piece of art using chalks, paint and lots of glitter! We had glittery black playdough and used sparkly pipe cleaners to practice our threading skills.
Today we marked Remembrance Day by making poppies! We made some to take home using a sponge and our fingerprints for the black middle. We also made a beautiful wreath for our gate. We talked about why we think about people who died in the war on this day and watched a lovely video from CBeebies.
(If you search for ‘CBeebies Poppies’ you can find it online.)
Thank you all for your wonderful family portraits! We still have lots of space so if you need to add yours please bring it in next week.
This week we have been focusing on Fireworks as the start of our 1/2 term topic focussed on ‘Wow!’ We loved watching them on the board and talking about how they sound and the colours we saw. We have started creating a large collaborative piece of artwork… Watch this space see it next week when it is complete!
Have a lovely weekend 🙂
