Christmas has arrived!

This week we have decorated our Christmas tree and have started making our Christmas cards. We are adding a cotton wool ball to our Santa’s beard and have candy canes in our stocking advent calendar! I wonder who’s turn it is to have theirs today? Merry Christmas!

Froglets hoop!

Every year at St. Michael’s each class hang up hoops with decorations hanging from them in the school hall. These always look amazing and this year is no exception! Please see the school Facebook page for more photos… here are our exceptionally sparkly Christmas Trees! Another WOW from us… great job Froglets! 🎄⭐️🎅🏽❤️

We’re going on an owl hunt!

This week we have hidden 10 different coloured owls around Nursery – some inside and some in the garden. The children have been using the clipboards to mark off the coloured owls when they find them and working as a team to find them all! It has prompted lots of discussion about favourite colours and different shades.

Fireworks!

We have loved learning about fireworks this week. We have watched them online and listened to the different sounds they make. We made sparklers and a collaborative piece of art using chalks, paint and lots of glitter! We had glittery black playdough and used sparkly pipe cleaners to practice our threading skills.

Remembrance Day.

Today we marked Remembrance Day by making poppies! We made some to take home using a sponge and our fingerprints for the black middle. We also made a beautiful wreath for our gate. We talked about why we think about people who died in the war on this day and watched a lovely video from CBeebies.

(If you search for ‘CBeebies Poppies’ you can find it online.)
